Her passion for the performing arts is rooted in her first career. After earning a Humanities degree from Michigan State University, she was a publicist for the Goodspeed Opera House in Connecticut, Syracuse Stage, and The Joffrey Ballet in New York.
After moving to Washington, D.C., she launched a freelance writing business, creating publications for banks, hospitals, and schools for ten years.
