My guest today earned a BA in English and Secondary Education and taught seventh grade English and writing for fifteen years. As much as she loved teaching junior high students—despite the horrified looks on peoples’ faces when she told them what she did for a living—in 2015 it was time for a change. She’d dreamed of writing a novel, and wanted to pursue that goal. She obtained an MFA in English and Creative Writing from Southern New Hampshire University, began writing A Week of Warm Weather as her thesis and completed the novel. For the past three years, she’s spent her time teaching at the college level and publishing and promoting her novel. She’s also a self-proclaimed Billy Joel superfan with a live concert count of 44 shows. Welcome to Authors Over 50, Lee Bukowski.
