EPISODE SUMMARY
My guest today moved a lot as a kid. As a result, he attended seven different elementary schools. Books became his coping mechanism. They replaced the awkwardness associated with starting a new school, walking into a new classroom, and making new friends. Books didn’t judge, they didn’t bully, and they didn’t exclude him from whatever activities were going on. Not once did he ever pick up a book and feel rejected. Today, he enjoys works of fiction and nonfiction, with a heavy emphasis on history, adventure, and classics. His passion for history is on display in his debut series, The Last Roman.
